Welcome to summer...sort of.

Even though commencement is still fresh in everyone's memory, and the recent graduates have probably barely started recovering from their endless weekend of parties, I have already started considering this fall's classes. Recently, I was offered the opportunity to become a part of the 2010-2011 QEP faculty cohort, and subsequently, have started an exciting new course on how to render our students better writers through the use of instructional technology. I will be using this blog to track my own growth, share my ideas on writing across the curriculum and any new developments in my own field of mass communication, and hopefully engage my fall courses in some interesting discussions. Although I'm not new to the world of blogging, tweeting, GoogleDocs, and Wikis, this will be my first foray into applying all of this to my students' benefits. And to be honest, and without meaning to sound corny, I am excited.

  1. Yes, the neat thing about QEP is that it is NEW, which means that it is wide open to the creativity that we want to bring to it. We rarely have that sense of being involved with something genuinely unique, and in a shared environment with colleagues, as well!

  2. Well, I must be corny as well, because I'm also excited. I think we're going to do some really innovative things in QEP this year, and I'm glad you're helping us.
